Happy December, Shedeck Community!

This time of year is undeniably busy. With holiday parties, musical events, gift shopping, and so many other wonderful things on the calendar, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. I hope that's not the case for you and your family! I encourage everyone to take a moment to soak in all the fun and excitement this season brings alongside your children.
We are especially looking forward to celebrating together soon! I can't wait to see our students show off their musical skills in just a few days at the Shedeck Winter Celebration!
As we navigate the month, our school's word of the month is Empathy. I encourage you to ask your student about what they are learning about Empathy and how they can practice putting themselves in someone else’s shoes this month.

December is a special time filled with family traditions, joyful celebrations, and meaningful moments. We love seeing that same excitement on the faces of our students each day. While this season brings many fun events and activities, consistent attendance remains essential—every day at school helps students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and maintain positive routines that help support their success. We sincerely appreciate your continued partnership in making school a priority and working closely with us to support your child’s learning and growth. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day and for all the ways you encourage them at home. As we navigate both the joys and challenges this season can bring, let’s continue working together to ensure every student feels valued and successful each day. At this month's meeting we will be:

Save the Date! We will have our 4th annual Book Swap at Shedeck in March and will begin collecting books in January. We are looking for new or gently used books that you no longer need and are appropriate for our PreK-3rd graders. Depending on how many we collect, students will be able to choose books to take home and keep for free during the book swap!

The holiday season can be a great time to clean out those bookshelves and make room for new books that your kids will enjoy. Donated books can be sent to school with students or dropped off in the library.
